Diagnostics
- Left torsion spring fractured at coil 17; right spring fatigued (coil gaps)
- Cables off drum on right side; minor drum-groove wear
- Opener OK but limit switch overstressed; force reading 9
Parts & materials
- (2) High-cycle torsion springs 262-2 × 0.250 - 25 000 cycles
- (2) 8×7 galvanized lift cables (7×19 aircraft-grade)
- Drum service kit & set-screws
- White lithium grease & PTFE hinge spray

Work performed
- Secured door, removed broken springs & frayed cables
- Installed matched spring pair, torqued to 7.5 turns (165 lb lift)
- Re-seated drums, installed cables, tension-balanced
- Lubricated bearings, hinges, rollers; tightened lag bolts
- Reset opener force & travel; tested auto-reverse (2× pass)
